How we handle your data.
Last updated September 29, 2026
What we collect
When you join the TALENT+ Toronto Round 03 email list from this page, we collect:
- Your email address (required)
- Your city (auto-populated as Toronto from this page)
- The signup source (hero or cassette)
- The TALENT+ program and round
- Basic campaign attribution if you arrived with UTM parameters
The public page does not collect your mix link, Instagram handle, or bio. We may ask for those later in the follow-up email. We do not use device fingerprinting.
Where Meta advertising measurement is enabled for this campaign, these pages can use the Meta (Facebook) pixel to measure the ad campaign that brings people to TALENT+ Toronto. See Advertising and measurement below for exactly what that shares and how to control it.
Where it goes
Signups pass through a secure TALENT+ intake endpoint and are stored in Mailchimp, our email and audience-management provider for TALENT+ Toronto. Mailchimp's privacy policy: intuit.com/privacy/statement.
The TALENT+, MUSIC+ and RSN8 team use the list to send the mix submission follow-up and program updates. We never sell your data, and we never hand your email address to an advertiser. The Meta pixel described below does share anonymous browsing events with Meta, but not the email you type into the form.
How we use it
We use your email to:
- Send the mix submission link. Watch your inbox for it.
- Tell you the outcome of the selection process
- Send TALENT+, MUSIC+ and RSN8 updates if you remain subscribed
We don't sell your data and we don't pass your email address to advertisers. We do measure the ad campaign that brought you here, and that measurement can be used to target similar audiences — see below.
How long we keep it
We retain your signup for the lifetime of the TALENT+ program unless you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Past applicants may be considered for future TALENT+ city rounds unless they opt out.
Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Correct or update it
- Have it deleted ("right to be forgotten")
- Withdraw consent at any time
- Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority
Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link that immediately stops further communication. For deletion or any other data request, reply to any TALENT+ email and we'll process it within 30 days.
Advertising and measurement
TALENT+ Toronto is promoted with paid social ads. Where Meta
advertising measurement is enabled, the Toronto pages —
/toronto and the confirmation page you see after
signing up — can load the Meta (Facebook) pixel.
It records two things:
- that a browser opened the page (PageView)
- that a signup completed (Lead) — the fact of it, not the email address you entered
If it loads, Meta receives these events together with the usual
technical data a website request carries — IP address, browser and
device type, and the page URL — and sets a _fbp cookie
in your browser. Meta uses this to attribute signups to specific ads
and to build "lookalike" audiences: people whose profiles resemble
those who signed up. This is third-party advertising technology, and
it does involve cross-site tracking by Meta. Meta's data policy:
facebook.com/privacy/policy.
Visitors whose IP address is located in the EEA or UK are asked to allow or decline this measurement before the Meta pixel loads. We save that choice in local browser storage so we can respect it on later visits. If we cannot determine a location, we ask first. Declining does not affect your TALENT+ application in any way.
If you would rather not be measured this way: on an EEA/UK visit, choose “Decline” in the consent prompt. You can also use your browser's tracking protection or an ad blocker, adjust Meta ad settings, or email us and we'll confirm your signup was recorded without it. Measurement plays no part in how entries are judged.
Cookies
TALENT+ Toronto sets no functional cookies of its own. We use Plausible Analytics for aggregate page traffic, which uses no cookies, no cross-site tracking, and builds no personal profiles.
If enabled and permitted, the Meta pixel described above sets one
advertising cookie (_fbp). It is only present on the
Toronto campaign pages. The consent prompt also uses local browser
storage to remember an EEA/UK visitor's choice.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the “Last updated” date above
and email everyone on the list. The Toronto version is always at
/toronto/privacy.
